Journal of American History

Journal of American HistoryThe Journal of American History is the leading scholarly publication in the field of American history and is well known as the major resource for the study, investigation, and teaching of our nation's past. Appearing quarterly since 1914—first as the Mississippi Valley Historical Review—the Journal has a distinguished history of its own, publishing many prize-winning and widely reprinted scholarly articles. The Journal also features historiographic essays and reviews of books, films, exhibitions, and Web sites. Its ongoing internationalization initiative places American history in a global context, and its Teaching the JAH project brings the latest scholarly research into the history classroom. The JAH Recent Scholarship bibliography is now available to OAH members as an online searchable database.
