At the core of the multiyear fellowship will be tuition and fees for six years of study. Tuition and fees will be provided for 24 credit hours in year 1 and for 30 credit hours each year in years 2 through 6.

In addition, the recipient will be awarded:

  • an associate instructorship in the Department of History in year 2;
  • an assistantship in the OAH executive office in years 3 and 4;
  • an associate instructorship in the Department of History in year 5;
  • and a dissertation-year stipend in year 6.

The recipient may choose to reverse the order of the awards for the last two years and take the dissertation-year stipend in year 5 and the associate instructorship in year 6. The stipend or compensation offered will be $18,000 annually in years 1 and 2, $19,000 annually in years 3 and 4, and $20,000 annually in years 5 and 6.
