Patrick Allitt
Emory University
Born and raised in England, Patrick Allitt came to America in the 1970s to study U.S. history and has been here ever since. He is Goodrich C. White Professor of History and director of the Emory College Center for Teaching and Curriculum at Emory University. He is author of The Conservatives: Ideas and Personalities Throughout American History (2009), I'm the Teacher, You're the Student: A Semester in the University Classroom (2004), and Religion in America Since 1945: A History (2003). He has also lectured widely for the Teaching Company, on cruise ships, and to groups of teachers, senior citizens, alumni, and study groups. Lecture topics:
