Leila J. Rupp

Leila J. Rupp is professor of women’s studies and associate dean of social sciences at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She is author of A Desired Past: A Short History of Same-Sex Sexuality in America (1999) and Worlds of Women: The Making of an International Women’s Movement (1997), and coauthor of Drag Queens at the 801 Cabaret (2003) and Survival in the Doldrums: The American Women’s Rights Movement, 1945 to the 1960s (1987). Also coeditor of Feminist Frontiers (7th ed., 2006), she is currently writing a global history of love between women. Lecture topics:
