Gary Y. Okihiro is professor of international and public affairs and director of the Center for the Study of Race and Ethnicity at Columbia University. He is author, most recently, of The Columbia Guide to Asian American History (2001) and Island World: A History of Hawai'i and the United States (2008). He is past president of the Association for Asian American Studies and recipient of the lifetime achievement award from the American Studies Association. Lecture topics:
