Mary Beth Norton

Mary Beth NortonA Pulitzer Prize finalist, Mary Beth Norton is a specialist in early American history and American women's and gender history. She is the author of several books including Separated by Their Sex: Women in Public and Private in the Colonial Atlantic World (2011); In the Devil's Snare: The Salem Witchcraft Crisis of 1692 (2002); Founding Mothers and Fathers: Gendered Power and the Forming of American Society (1997); and Liberty's Daughters: The Revolutionary Experience of American Women, 1750-1800 (1980, 1996). She has lectured extensively in the United States and abroad.
