Nick Salvatore

Nick SalvatoreNick Salvatore is the Maurice and Hinda Neufeld Founders Professor of Industrial Relations and a professor of American studies at Cornell University. He is author of Eugene V. Debs: Citizen and Socialist (1982), which received the Bancroft Prize and the John H. Dunning Prize, and We All Got History: The Memory Books of Amos Webber (1996), which received the New England History Association’s Outstanding Book Prize. His most recent book is Singing in a Strange Land: C.L. Franklin, the Black Church, and the Transformation of America (2003). Franklin (1915-1984) was an influential preacher, committed social activist, and longtime pastor of Detroit’s New Bethel Baptist Church.
