Pete Daniel

Pete DanielA past president of the OAH and a retired curator at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, Pete Daniel specializes in the history of the twentieth-century South. He has curated exhibits that deal with science, photography, and music, and he is author of Toxic Drift: Pesticides and Health in the Post-World War II South (2005); Lost Revolutions: The South in the 1950s (2000); and most recently, Dispossession: Discrimination Against African American Farmers in the Age of Civil Rights (2013). He is also a past president of the Southern Historical Association.
