Hotels Also, if you are registered at the Hilton San Francisco and wish to stay in San Jose for the convention, you should 1) reserve a room at one of the five convention hotels listed below; and 2) cancel your reservation at the Hilton San Francisco. If you are staying at the Hyatt or the Doubletree, OAH has arranged for shuttles to and from the convention center, a short, five-minute ride. Shuttles depart every ten minutes, beginning at 7:00 a.m. and ending at 11:00 p.m. • Doubletree San Jose Hotel [map] NOTE: OAH has arranged shuttle transportation that will begin at 7:00 a.m. each day and run every ten minutes until 11:00 p.m. The Doubletree San Jose is less than five minutes from the McEnery Convention Center and an hour south of San Francisco and north of Monterey. The Doubletree San Jose has more than 500 newly renovated guest rooms, five dining options, twenty-four hour room service, state of the art business center, high-speed internet access, fitness center, and generous parking. NOTE: OAH has arranged shuttle transportation that will begin at 7:00 a.m. each day and run every ten minutes until 11:00 p.m. On 17 acres in the heart of Silicon Valley, the Hyatt San Jose offers Mediterranean charm blended with modern technology. The Hyatt is less than five minutes from the McEnery Convention Center. Amenities include high-speed internet, complimentary in-room coffee and tea, feather beds, iron and ironing boards, and hairdryer. The hotel is four miles from the downtown San Jose McEnery Convention Center and on the Valley Transit Light Rail line. Room blocks at the following hotels have sold out: • Crowne Plaza [map] Crowne Plaza guest rooms are equipped with either a king-sized or two double beds. Amenities include high-speed internet access, iron with ironing board, and coffee maker. The hotel offers a touch of elegance in Miro’s Mediterranean Cafe and Bar featuring Italian and Mediterranean Cuisine. Guests can enjoy breakfast buffets, a selection of pastas and other entrees for lunch, and nightly dinner specials. The Espresso Bar features cappuccino, flavored coffees, and freshly baked pastries and breads. • Hilton San Jose & Towers [map] Connected to the San Jose McEnery Convention Center via an enclosed concourse, the Hilton San Jose offers feather beds, high-speed internet access, a choice of complimentary newspaper, iron and ironing board, coffee maker and coffee, hair dryer, and refrigerator. The City Bar & Grill in the Hilton is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and is known for its sophisticated blend of 1940s music and its variety of time-honored recipes and original creations. • San Jose Marriott [map] The San Jose Marriott is directly connected to the San Jose McEnery Convention Center and offers more than five hundred guest rooms. All guest rooms and meeting space offer high-speed internet access, two-line telephones, bathrobes, voicemail, iron and ironing board, hair dryers, coffee makers, complimentary daily newspaper, and laptop safes. The Arcadia restaurant, recently opened by Chef Michael Mina, offers guests an extensive menu with items such as Dry Aged Slow Roasted Prime Rib or Lobster Pot Pie. The closest and most convenient is the San Jose facility from which several of the convention hotels provide free shuttle service. If airfares to San Francisco and Oakland are less expensive, you may wish to consider these alternatives.
