Georgia Governor Pledges to Keep State Archives Open
On September 13, 2012, the Georgia secretary of state Brian Kemp announced that due to budget cuts, his office will soon reduce staff at the Georgia State Archives and will close the archives entirely on November 1, 2012. One week later, the Governor of Georgia, Nathan Deal, pledged to keep the archives open. Read more >
