Marc Reyes Receives Fulbright Award
OAH member Marc Reyes (a recipient of a 2018 OAH Presidents' Travel Grant for Emerging Historians) received a Fulbright-Nehru Open Study/Research Award to India from the U.S. Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board. Marc, a doctoral candidate in the University of Connecticut's Department of History, will spend 2019 conducting dissertation research in Delhi, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad. His dissertation, “In the Circle of Great Powers: India, the United States, and the Postcolonial Atomic State, 1947-1974” examines the political and cultural contexts of India’s atomic energy program and U.S. involvement in the development of their nuclear weapons program.
