NEH “Dialogues on the Experience of War” Grant Program Announced

A new grant program aimed at bringing a "humanities perspective and context to the experience of war" is being offered by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). The "Dialogues on the Experience of War" grant program plans to "expand and deepen the understanding of military service [through] humanities text and community discussions." It falls under NEH's Stand Together initiative, which is the institution's commitment to engagement with military veterans and their communities through the humanities.

Grant applicants might propose the recruitment and training of discussion leaders, including active military, military families, and the public. The discussion programs must pull sources from varied disciplines such as history, literature, visual arts, and more, and cover themes like heroism or suffering. These discussion programs may take place at veterans' centers, public libraries, museums and other community spaces. The deadline is September 15, 2015.
