Explore the various advertising opportunities at the Organization of American Historians. Please select a publication below, or download our flyer [PDF] that provides an overview of OAH advertising opportunities.
Journal of American History
The leading scholarly publication in the field of U.S. history is well known as the definitive resource for the study, investigation, and teaching of the nation’s past. Published since 1914, the Journal has a distinguished history of its own, publishing many prize-winning articles. Each quarterly issue includes cutting edge scholarship; reviews of books, films, exhibitions, and web sites; and a recent initiative places U.S. history within a global context.
OAH Newsletter
Published quarterly, the OAH Newsletter includes articles on current developments in the profession, interviews, special features, and timely news about the activities of the organization. Advertisements include American history books, products, and services; fellowship and grant opportunities; meetings and happenings of other organizations; special announcements; calls for papers; and Professional Opportunities. The print version circulates to all OAH individual and institution members and the online version is available to the public.
One of the best tools available to teachers of American history at all levels, each quarterly thematic issue of the OAH Magazine features historical scholarship by prominent historians in an accessible way, yielding new information and insights on contemporary research. Classroom-ready teaching strategies are included. The illuminating articles are not only of interest to educators, but also appeal to those with a passion for our nation's past.
OAH Annual Meeting Program
Thousands of historians gather each year to discuss the best new work in U.S. history research and theory, make professional contacts, explore the host city, and view the latest American history books and products. Produced for the OAH Annual Meeting, the Program contains a list of sessions with participants; a participant index; details about special events, offsite venues, meeting highlights, and available tours; an impressive advertising section; and a list of exhibitors with booth location. The entire OAH membership receives a copy of the Program in advance of the meeting. Many advertisers choose to coordinate their space ads with exhibit hall booth rentals, but the ad section appeals to and reaches more than just the meeting attendees.
The OAH Web site at <http://www.oah.org> allows you to get your message out to tens of thousands of people interested in U.S. history. Increasingly historians are getting more dependent on electronic sources for research, news, information, teaching support, and OAH membership functions, making the OAH Web site a valuable space for promoting your product or service. Place your ad (animation and rotations are allowed) on any of the following pages and have it linked to a Web address of your choice.
