OAH Surveys and Research Projects

Survey of Employee Parental Leave, Fall 2004

In the fall of 2004, the OAH Committee on the Status of Women conducted its first survey on the impact of employee parental leave policies on OAH members. We welcome your participation in this project. The survey was reissued in the summer/fall of 2006.

AHA-OAH Surveys of Part-Time Staffing in History Departments

In October 2003, and again in summer/fall 2006, the Joint AHA-OAH Committee on Part-Time and Adjunct Employment designed a survey to gauge the use of part-time and adjunct faculty in history departments. The survey has been sent to 2,092 departments in the United States.

Department chairs are encouraged to if their department has not yet participated in the survey. This is an ongoing project. The joint committee will be asking departments each year to update their part-time/adjunct profiles.
