Presidents' Travel Fund

DEADLINE: APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY DECEMBER 1, 2020

The fund provides travel stipends of up to $750 for up to five graduate students and recent PhDs in history (no more than four years from date of degree) whose papers or panels/sessions have been accepted by the OAH Program Committee for inclusion on the annual meeting program. Preference will be given to those who are presenting at the annual meeting for the first time.

Please e-mail your paper title or panel title, with an abstract and a CV (indicating your anticipated year of completion of the PhD or the year your PhD was granted), and a paragraph describing why it is important for you to attend the meeting (besides presenting your paper if you are doing so) as a PDF by midnight PST on December 1, 2020 to the OAH Presidents' Travel Fund for Emerging Historians Committee at presidentstravelfund@oah.org.

In addition to travel funds, recipients will be provided with a 1½ hour meeting with a mentor at the annual meeting as well as other networking opportunities. To increase knowledge of the program, recipients may be asked to give a testimony which could be used for marketing purposes on the OAH website or in OAH's electronic and print publications.

Recipients will be notified after February 1, 2021. Grants will be announced at the 2021 OAH Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL, April 15–18.
