Support the OAH Endowment Challenge
The generosity of the Earl Lewis family inspires us to continue the essential work of history. To keep doing that work, we need to rise to the challenge Earl issued at the end of his address. After announcing his donation of $50,000 to the endowment, he promised an additional $50,000 if OAH members can raise $500,000 in 5 years.
We have raised slightly over $200,000 toward this goal—a fabulous beginning, but we are still less than halfway to the finish line and the clock is ticking.
If every member gave $50, we would meet the challenge goal. If everyone donated $100, we could push the endowment over the $1 million mark.
Please join us in helping to meet Professor Lewis’s challenge to build the OAH endowment. Together, as an organization, we have the size and strength to answer the call—but it will require the generosity of OAH members. We welcome all gifts, pledges, and bequests. In addition, if you meet the age requirements, you may be able to donate funds from an IRA directly to the OAH and thereby avoid taxes on the income.
Fund the future, support the past.
