The Organization of American Historians Launches New Media Resource

The Organization of American Historians (OAH) is pleased to announce a new resource for members of the media. With over 7,000 member historians, the OAH can connect you with subject matter experts on topics ranging from the Electoral College, executive orders, U.S.-Russian relations, and everything in between. In these contentious times, understanding our nation’s history is of critical importance.

OAH members include academics, public historians, educators, and independent historians. They are contributors to publications such as Slate, New York Times, and the Washington Post and are frequently called upon to provide historical perspectives on current events.

Participating OAH members can be found in the attached PDF and on our website Subject area expertise and professional affiliations are publicly available. Phone numbers and/or email addresses will be provided to members of the media upon request.

We welcome suggestions from you for additional resources that would be beneficial to you and your colleagues. Please contact Executive Director Katherine Finley at or (812) 855-7311 between the hours of 8am and 5pm ET.

The OAH believes honesty and integrity must be the basis for all historical scholarship. Historians seek truth about the past to provide insight to the present and the future.
