Journal of American History
The Journal of American History is the leading scholarly publication in the field of U.S. history and well known as the definitive resource for the study, investigation, and teaching of the nation’s past. Published since 1914, the Journal has a distinguished history of its own, publishing many prize-winning articles. Each quarterly issue includes cutting edge scholarship; reviews of books, films, exhibitions, and websites; and a recent initiative places U.S. history within a global context. The American Historian
The American Historian is dedicated to the topics and issues vital to OAH members. It covers primary and secondary teaching, professional development, archives and research, public history, digital history, and contemporary debates about the past. The American Historian appears quarterly each February, May, August, and November. The American Historian is a digital publication that reaches approximately 7,000. Members also have the option to purchase a print subscription.
OAH Annual Meeting Program
Thousands of historians gather each year to discuss the best new work in U.S. history research and theory, make professional contacts, explore the host city, and view the latest American history books and products. Produced for the OAH Annual Meeting, the Program contains a list of sessions with participants; a participant index; details about special events, offsite venues, meeting highlights, and available tours; an impressive advertising section; and a list of exhibitors with booth location. The entire OAH membership (print circulation of approximately 9,000) receives a copy of the Program in advance of the meeting. Many advertisers choose to coordinate their space ads with exhibit hall booth rentals, but the ad section appeals to and reaches more than just the meeting attendees.
Reach tens of thousands of people interested in U.S. history by advertising across the various OAH websites. OAH websites are a valuable and targeted venue for promoting U.S. history books, products, services, and events. Your digital ad would be highly visible as it rotates through featured sections of the OAH sites such as the Journal of American History, the news of the organization and profession, the OAH Distinguished Lectureship Program, the OAH/National Park Service Collaboration, and OAH Teaching Tools.
Job Listings: OAH Career Center
Promote a job, fellowship, or opportunity to a targeted audience of U.S. history professionals, educators, graduate students, and others on the OAH Career Center. Access to the job listings is free and open to the public. Employers will discover a variety of packages to best advertise their position listing.
OAH Membership Mailing Lists
Mailing lists of OAH members who participate in the program are available for one-time use. Lists are billed at a rate of $150 per 1,000 name. Lists under 1,000 names will be billed at $150 (The OAH does not prorate for lists containing less than 1,000 names). OAH does not sell the email addresses of its members or subscribers and reserves the right to reject any order that is not consonant with the goals and purposes of the OAH.
