Back to School: A Teaching Issue

The September issue of The American Historian is based around teaching and pedagogy. The issue includes two pedagogy pieces on teaching the history of genocide in U.S. history classes and how to promote creative historical imagination in the classroom, and two teaching resource articles on teaching women and social movements in U.S. history and an examination of the history of Black cowboys in history textbooks. The issue also includes a piece on the importance of supporting adjunct instructors to ensure excellent teaching, a jointly-authored piece by OAH Executive Director Beth English and AHA Executive Director James Grossman on combating historical misinformaiton, and a piece from OAH President Phil Deloria on the impact of great teaching.
